Green Carpet Mesclun

This clever kit is a unique Kiwi invention.  Wool off-cuts that are usually discarded have been collected and weaved into a carpet then Mesclun seeds are embedded into the shaggy carpet.  All you have to do is place the magic carpet on top of potting mix, cover with sand, water and watch it grow.  You can have your fresh Mesclun in a few weeks.

We anticipate that this product will be available for purchase on this website by the end of March 2012.

Mesclun Woolgro Trial

The trial commenced on 5th December and it was very easy to plant, simply cutting the matting to size, placing it onto the potting mix, covering with a handful of potting mix and watering gently.

I picked the first leaves on 28th December (it was ready a little sooner, but with Christmas holidays I didn’t have the opportunity), right through until the end of March/early April.

While the amounts I cropped each time were small, I could have picked more, but was only using it for myself, so chose to pick small amounts.
